Pre-loved
Worn once, loved twice.
The school keeps a collection of pre-worn, cleaned uniform items. Families take what they need for a small donation, and every euro goes to a GVS-affiliated charity.
In the shop, pre-loved items appear next to the new ones in your child’s size. Outgrown pieces can be handed in at the office at any time.
What do pupils wear every day?
Green polo shirt, green woollen jacket or GVS hoodie, and navy trousers, shorts, skirt or summer dress. Navy blue or black shoes (not trainers) and navy socks. In May, June and September the white sports top may replace the polo.
And on sports days?
Green tracksuit, green shorts, the white sports top, white sports shoes and white socks. Teachers tell you which days are sports days.
Do IB students wear uniform?
No. Students in Years 12 and 13 follow the dress guidelines in the policy. For them the shop offers an optional leavers’ hoodie for their graduation year.
Does my child need a name in every item?
Yes, the policy asks for every item to be labelled. Woven name labels are sewn in free with every online order. An embroidered name on the chest is available for €4.
Shoes and accessories?
Shoes and socks are not sold in the shop; any navy or black school shoes and navy socks are fine. No sandals, avarcas or fashion boots. Wellington boots are fine for the way to school in winter.
Do new pupils get a book bag?
Yes, every new pupil receives the green book bag on the first day. Replacements are available in the shop.
